Memories of a much-loved CofE headteacher

Tributes and memories have been shared of a much-loved former Church of England headteacher ahead of her funeral on Monday 26 June in, Stockport. Alice Ramsbottom, who died in May at the age of 108, has been described as "a diminutive figure with a massive heart".


Donations from Churchwardens to support 'Filling the Gap'

At the Archdeacons' Visitation Services, the Churchwardens in attendance traditionally make a donation to charity and this year the Archdeacons have chosen Transforming Lives Together as their charity of choice. The money raised will go towards funding the 'Filling the Gap' initiative.

The Church House officers behind the Here to Listen project have told how they were prompted to act after hearing about a suicidal school child who had been told they could not access support for eight months. In November, the team behind the project will offer training to new church volunteers.

Volunteers from churches around Warrington and Runcorn have been supporting young Creamfields festival goers by offering support, space and conversation. Now into its fourth year one festival goer described the volunteers as "inspirational".
