Adults step-up for a Christmas tradition

The community of St John’s, Adlington,l part of the Parish of Prestbury - turned a Christmas tradition on its head when they put together a nativity play that was performed in the main by grown-ups and not children.


Resources for Advent and Christmas 2022

The Church of England has been making more resources available for this year's Christmas campaign, titled, Follow the Star. The downloadable resources, which include videos, graphics, and music are free to use in church buildings, websites, and social media.


Christmas with A Church Near You

Many churches across the diocese are already registered with A Church Near You, the website that helps people to find a church in their area. For churches it’s a great way to put yourself on the map, literally, so that people know where you are, how to find you and who to contact, via phone or email.

Ash Wednesday in Ashton-upon-Mersey

Not since 2020 have clergy been able to offer "ashes to go" to local residents. So, despite the rain, in Ashton-Upon-Mersey, the Revd Catherine Cleghorn and the Revd Becky Mathew met with residents to impose ashes and to pray.
