Time to Talk Day 2021 is on February 4th and takes the theme “The Power of Small”. A small conversation about mental health has the power to make a big difference. The more conversations we have, the more myths we can bust and barriers we can break down, helping to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many people with mental health problems feel.
You can sign up and be part of Time to Talk Day 2021, on the Time to Change website. By signing up you can be the first to hear about Time to Talk Day opportunities and ideas to help you get involved.
Our contribution to Time to Talk Day is a service presented by members of the diocese’s Mental Health Forum. Head of Counselling Services, Revd Peter Mackriell says “In the early days of 2021 we are aware that many people are struggling with their mental health, and this service is offered for you to use at home as we continue in lockdown and to coincide with the national Time To Talk Day. Whether online or on the phone, in person or in prayer, we hope that you find time to talk and also to discover that you are listened to.”
The Mental Health Forum stands alongside those who face the challenges of anxiety or depression, those who feel overwhelmed by stress or by grief, those who feel isolated by the circumstances of their life or unnerved by the expectations of others. The members of the Forum seek to raise awareness of practices that support good mental health, within the community of the church and in parishes across the diocese.
