Black History Month gives everyone the opportunity to share, celebrate and understand the impact of black heritage and culture.People from African and Caribbean backgrounds have been a fundamental part of British history for centuries. However, campaigners believe their contribution to society has often been overlooked or distorted. Across the Diocese of Chester, we've been reflecting on this year's theme, 'Reclaiming Narratives' and the need to restore equity.
In his introduction to this video, Bishop Mark said:
"Black History Month is about listening, not just to individuals but to whole cultures and whole people groups that we so often overlook to our peril and to our shame. God has made this world gloriously diverse and we are richer when we are together in it."
