We are delighted to announce the appointment of the Reverend Briony (Bee) Boyde as the next vicar of St Mary’s Sandbach. This is subject to all legal formalities being fulfilled. We look forward to Bee joining us in the very near future.
Here is a message from Bee.
My name is Briony but everyone calls me Bee, I am married to Simon and we are coming to a church near you! We are delighted to be moving to Sandbach and to be joining you at St Mary’s. We will be moving from the Diocese of Coventry where I am currently rector of St. Peter’s Hillfields on the edge of the city centre. I have been in Coventry for around 6 years moving here for my curacy. Simon is a Coventry man born and bred and we were married nearly 2 years ago. Coventry is a special place for me having been ordained and married in the cathedral.
Before life in Coventry I was trained for ordination at Ridley College in Cambridge. I have very happy memories of my time there including a placement for 3 years at Great St Mary’s the university church. My sending parish was Barnsbury in North London, having lived in London for nearly 15 years. During that time I studied for a degree in The History of Art, made a lot of coffee managing a coffee shop and worked for my church.
I still drink a lot of coffee, enjoy art, photography and being creative. I have recently taught myself to crochet and nothing beats a bit of Poirot with my hooks and wool. Simon has begun to educate me in music and we particularly enjoy listening to live music and his vinyl collection continues to grow.
We are looking forward to meeting you all, getting to know you and opening our home to you (when we have unpacked). I am excited to see all that God has in store for us together. “
