Rebecca Holland is our recently appointed Jesus Shaped People Champion and is inviting churches to join other churches on a 15-week programme to think more like Jesus.
Rebecca's role is to Champion the Jesus Shaped People project across the diocese, by providing support and mentoring for the parishes. She describes it as 'An Adventure', because "We don't actually know what the outcome will be. Jesus Shaped People is a whole church discipleship adventure. At the start you might not know where or what your destination will look like, but we guarantee that through it, as a community and church family, you will work together to reshape your vision, your whole church priorities and make the things that mattered to Jesus matter to you." The broad aim of the project is to help people to think much more radically about how to become more like Jesus not just as individuals but also as churches and as church communities.
Mission Advisor, Revd John Hellewell who works with Rebecca in the Outreach department at Church House says, “My experience of JSP has been that it re-energises a sense of vision and purpose for a church, and in particular re-invigorates small groups, all in a way that is unique in each context. With Rebecca’s wealth of experience in the world of education, she is the ideal person to help churches make the most of the JSP adventure.”
The JesusShaped People programme is funded by the National Church of England and is free for those churches who join the project. Currently, two churches have signed up and there is room for three more. If you or your church would like to be a part of the adventure or hear more about what it can offer, you can contact Rebecca by email on rebecca.holland@chester.anglican.org
