Despite the challenges of the past two years, Church House has continued to deliver a range of events ranging from training courses, workshops, vocation days, and discipleship courses. Depending on Government guidance at the time, these were either in-person, online or a mixture of the two and overall feedback has been positive.

The widespread adoption of video conferencing software Zoom was a steep learning curve to many, but persistence (and a good dose of patience!) have meant we were still able to offer courses during the Covid pandemic. One great advantage of using Zoom is that we’ve been able to engage with many who might not have been able to attend in person.
Bishop Mark was an early adopter of online technology and made good use of the technology on the day he was announced. Across several hours during the lockdown of May 2020 he met with groups of young people online, enjoyed performances from children of key workers at schools, and held conversations with staff and clergy.
Almost all of our events are free for people to attend as we believe that helping people to learn and understand more about Christianity ultimately gives them the confidence that knowledge brings, to spread the word of God in the parishes and beyond.

What could we do better?
Church House staff organise training opportunities for parishes that cover a wide variety of aspects of church life. As we plan a future programme of training and events, we would like to understand your perspective to ensure we cover topics of greatest need as much as possible. We welcome your thoughts and would be grateful if you could tell us what training needs you would like Church House to offer via the form below.
