This Sunday 12th September is Disability Awareness Day. Our Engagement and Inclusion Officer Reverend Vanessa Layfield reminds us that Deaf and disabled people are an essential part of the Church, and the Church of England is committed to ensuring the welcome, inclusion, and participation of all as one of its major goals. The Archbishops’ Council which sets the strategic goals for the Church of England includes disability as one of the key areas in which it wants to improve so that people of all abilities can be full members of the Church.
Vanessa, and The Chair of our Diocesan Disability Forum, Father Mark Turner, invite you to celebrate with them, that we are ‘All fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God - Psalm 139:14.
Please join + Mark, Venerable Ian Bishop, Reverend Katie Tupling, members of the Diocesan Disability Forum and the St Mary’s Church, Nantwich, band in worship at our pre-recorded ‘Celebration of Disability Service’,
May God Bless us, as we continue our journey towards becoming a Church where people of all abilities are fully included as members of the Church.
With love in Christ .
