Budding film makers from churches across Chester Diocese have been learning how to use mobile phones to make videos. Former BBC producers, Laurence Inwood and Ged Clarke led two sessions, demonstrating the basics of storytelling and camera techniques. After a three hour session on Zoom, the cohort were given a fortnight to collect and edit some footage to practice their new skills. A video viewing morning and feedback event was held at Church House on Friday 21 March, followed by an informal networking lunch.
Director of Communications, Harriet Roberts said: "We are keen to support people with their digital storytelling skills and hope to run something similar in the future. Bishop Mark uses the term, 'crowd sourced content'. We'd love to be sharing really great videos showing people expressing and exploring their everyday faith across our wide variety of churches and church traditions. In the meantime, we plan to meet again as a cohort in a few months time and to build a network of people to share their skills."
