In his Easter message, Bishop Mark reminds us that the resurrection of Jesus is not only joyful and hopeful—but also deeply generous, even “absurdly” so.
He describes the resurrection as “completely absurd” in the best possible way and asks how can it be, that the God we’ve turned away from would still love us so much? God's act of love is so generous, it almost doesn’t make sense—and that’s exactly what makes it so amazing! Easter is a time to reflect on how freely God gives and is generous with his love for us. He compares it to the way our modern world counts everything carefully, from money to food portions.
We count everything,” Bishop Mark says and encourages us to think beyond numbers and rules and to embrace the idea that God’s grace can’t be measured. “The resurrection of Christ is boundless,” he says. “It’s full of joy. It’s absurdly generous. And it’s for you!"
