Bishop Mark commissions the new interim Archdeacons

On 12th September, Bishop Mark commissioned Lesley Currie and Jane Proudfoot as Assistant Archdeacons for Macclesfield Archdeaconry.
During their commissioning service, Bishop Mark spoke about how they will be ‘enabling, inspiring, encouraging, and urging the church to share the love of Christ in our communities’.
Jane and Lesley have both been Rural Deans in the Diocese and as Assistant Archdeacons they’ll be supporting the parishes and people across Macclesfield Archdeaconry. Jane will be working with parishes in Knutsford, Bowdon, Congleton and Nantwich and Lesley will be supporting those in Chadkirk, Cheadle, Macclesfield, Mottram and Stockport. Jane and Lesley have asked that we pray for them as they get to know the Deaneries they will be working alongside, meet new people and get to grips with new systems.
They step into the roles on an interim basis, to support parishes as we seek to appoint the substantive Archdeacon of Macclesfield post. Ian Bishop, former Archdeacon of Macclesfield has moved to the Diocese of Norwich to be Bishop of Thetford.

Mark chats with Jane and Lesley about their roles in a short video filmed in the garden Bishop's House.

If you wish to contact either Lesley or Jane, please contact Deb Toole at Church House.
