Bishop of Boga's message to the diocese

Bishop William Bahemuka, the Bishop of Boga in the Democratic Republic of Congo, has shared a Holy Week video message with the Diocese of Chester in which he encourages us to trust in the Lord.

Bishop William says: "People are confined, isolated and locked in their homes. In that situation, our social and economic structures are at risk of collapse. Is it a reason to lose hope, to lose trust in our Lord? Not at all."

Referencing Psalm 23, he says that after coronavirus has passed, we will see lives, communities and churches revived and renewed.

On receiving the message, Bishop Keith Sinclair said: "I am so grateful that in such times as these Bishop William of Boga has been able to send us Easter Greetings; do listen to his wonderful words on Psalm 23. Those of us who have had the privilege of visiting the diocese there know the immensity of the pressures they face and are so thankful for their inspirational faith.”
