Christ Church Higher Bebington is a welcoming church with strong community networks. We are seeking a dedicated Children and Families Worker to coordinate outreach activities to children and families in our parish.
Responsibilities
• Consider the needs of children and families in our community and identify new ways to meet them, working at the interface between our church and the wider community.
• Develop a strategy for engaging with the parents and carers of children in our parish, encouraging them to also become involved in the life of the church and grow in faith.
• Coordinate our existing programme of outreach activities and work alongside our Schools’ Team to deliver outreach activities in schools in our parish.
• Encourage and grow our community of volunteers to support our children and families’ ministry and manage resourcing of activities.
Requirements
• Experience in working with children and families within a church/faith environment.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate with both children and adults in an engaging and inspiring way.
• An Occupational Requirement exists for the successful applicant to be a practising Christian in accordance with the Equality Act, 2010.
• An enhanced DBS Disclosure will be required for the successful candidate.
Part time role circa 50% of a full time 37.5 hours per week. Exact hours and working pattern to be negotiated taking into account required attendance at certain activities within our existing weekly/monthly timetable and involving some evening/weekend work.
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 pro rata based on qualifications and experience.
Start date: Negotiable, but ideally September 2024.
