Incumbent for Alvanley and Manley

St. John’s Alvanley and Manley is a friendly parish in a rural area of Cheshire, with a small, friendly congregation from diverse backgrounds. We offer a warm welcome to all-comers at our two churches.

For further details and an informal conversation, please contact the Bishop of Birkenhead, the Rt Revd Keith Sinclair on 0151 652 2741.

We are looking for an enthusiastic house for duty priest who will encourage us in developing our faith whilst at the same time having a strong pastoral ethic.

We need someone who:

  • Wishes to develop and deepen the faith of the congregation while making it more accessible to the community.
  • Promotes Bible-based teaching and encourages new forms of worship.
  • Will challenge us with new ideas.
  • Will have a powerful vision for St. John’s and for mission and outreach, particularly with teenagers, young adults and those on the fringes of the church (baptismal families and couples marrying in our church).
  • Encourages children, and their families, whether at home or in one of our village schools to join in our worship.

Our ideal candidate would be someone through whom God’s love for all shines; who has a good sense of humour, warmth and compassion and who understands, and can serve, the rural way of life; who would be a strong leader encouraging us to grow spiritually and numerically.

£3828.90 actual stipend, House for Duty
