Accessibility Funding

The National Church have allocated £1.5m to be spent on accessibility schemes in the 12 northern diocese.

There will be 20 grants of up to £50K and 100 grants of up to £5K to be made available for schemes that encourage wider accessibility for worshiping communities to be access over the next two years.

The scheme must “enhance accessibility, inclusion and participation for those who are deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent”.

There has to be a long-term benefit and the main focus of the scheme must be the accessibility improvement.

Example of large schemes that might be considered are accessible toilets, step free access into and within the church or flexible seating.

Examples of small schemes that might be considered are installation of a hearing-aid loop, large-print resources or sensory play resources for children.

Please contact Sheena Wilson  at Chester Diocese for further information and an application form.  For successful scheme there will be a two-year window to complete the project.
