On 16 August St Mary's Lymm had their pathway stolen. We reported on the story here. Since then, the church has had lots of support from the local community and the path is now fully restored.
All of the replacement York stone was been donated by members of the public in Lymm and over £300 was donated via a Go Fund me page set up by a Lymm resident (not a member of the congregation). Not only has the stone form this theft been replaced but the compacted gravel used in the previous repair when the stones were taken in May 2020 has also been replaced by donated York stone. Warrington Borough Council arranged the laying of the stone.
Rector of the church, Reverend Beverley Jameson was overwhelmed by the support, "It is just wonderful that the people of Lymm whether they have a faith or no faith have supported St Mary’s church and appreciate what we do in the community."
