The land section of the Eco Church survey encourages churches to take part in citizen science to help understand the biodiversity of our church land. This January, encourage your church members and members of your community to join the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. It’s a great way to reach out to the community and to improve our knowledge of wildlife across the UK.
It's free to take part and you’ll need just one hour of your time to watch either through the window or step outside. Why not offer warm drinks to people and ask them to come and join you.
If you do take part in the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch, please do share you pictures with us by sending them to hannah
There is also a Big Schools’ Birdwatch which lasts for a longer period from 7th January – 14th February. It’s a great opportunity to reach out to your local school and support them with a practical lesson and let them know that your church is concerned about nature and the bird population.
For further details visit the RSPB website.
If your church is going to take part, please let us know here at Church House comms@chester.anglican.org
