The Archdeacon of Macclesfield, Ian Bishop, is asking for prayers for the Diocese of Boga, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Archdeacon Ian says: "Would you please remember the situation in Boga in your prayers. Boga Diocese is one of our link dioceses in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The friendships that have developed have been very special and several visits have taken place in recent years.
"Boga is currently under real stress caused mostly by violence from rebel groups that has left dozens dead, a hospital destroyed and thousands of refugees running for their lives."
This letter from Bishop William Bahemuka explains what has been happening.
The video below shows the community in happier more peaceful times when visitors from Chester were welcomed and given incredible hospitality. Please pray for our friends in the Diocese of Boga at this difficult time.
