New Director of Communications Appointed

Harriet Roberts has been appointed as Director of Communications on an interim basis for 12 months. Many will remember Harriet who led the Casting the Net Wide process to discern the Diocesan vision.
 
For 22 years, Harriet worked as a broadcast journalist with the BBC in radio, television, stakeholder events and campaigns. She has also worked with charities, councils, churches and corporates in PR, marketing, and community engagement including a role at the National Trust as Media Manager and Project Coordinator for Heritage Open Days. Harriet is well known in the place making sector as a Business Improvement District Manager. She delivered award-winning partnership and communications work in Blackburn Lancashire and then worked as consultant with towns, cities, and counties around the UK as an associate director with specialist place marketing company, thinkingplace.  
 
Harriet is a Methodist local preacher and before moving to Warrington with her family to work for the Diocese of Chester in 2022, she was a part-time mission enabler working in Chatburn in the Ribble Valley.
 
Returning to Church House, Harriet said: “The vision process gave me an opportunity to experience the diversity of the diocese and to listen and feedback the ideas and concerns of hundreds of people. I’m now looking forward to being able to respond to what I’ve seen and heard so that we can work together to bring hope to the 1.5 million who need to hear the good news.”

Bishop Mark said: “I am delighted that we can welcome Harriet into this interim role; she brings a wealth of experience and wisdom and it will be a joy to work with her as we communicate the great news with which we are entrusted to all those who live, work, or visit in the Diocese.”
