The Gold Award for the best church magazine in a competition run by the Association for Church Editors (ACE) has been won by a magazine from this Diocese. Ho†Pott magazine from St. Christopher’s Church, Pott Shrigley, Cheshire was announced as the winner on Saturday 28th September at their annual meeting in Central Hall, Westminster. They were presented with the John King Trophy, a silver baptismal shell to use for the year, as well as a framed certificate and an engraved trophy. Editor Kath Matheson said 'I was surprised, honoured and delighted to accept the John King Trophy on behalf of everyone who contributes their expertise and time so willingly to Ho†Pott, our church and parish magazine. It’s lovely that our attempts to bring the Christian message, as well as stories relating to local people and events, to our rural community have been recognised in this way.’
The Association for Church Editors celebrated its 25th anniversary this year. It is a not for profit interdenominational, country wide organisation, aiming to encourage and help church editors to improve their magazines, www.churchmag.uk.
