Lucy Moore to speak at Growing Faith Conference

Lucy Moore, creator of Messy Church, and Head of the Growing Faith Foundation will be the keynote speaker at our Growing Faith Conference on 02 December 2023, open to anyone interested in developing and growing the faith of children and young people.

Lucy is a secondary school teacher by training who, in 2004, started Messy Church, a form of church for children and adults that involves creativity, celebration, and hospitality. The concept originated as a Fresh Expression in a church near Portsmouth and has since spread across the world, adopted by more than 3,500 church settings in over 30 countries.

Lucy's boundless energy led her to move on to her current role which goes to the heart of the Church of England’s aim to grow younger and more diverse.

Peter Froggatt, Director of Outreach, who is organising the Growing Faith Conference here in the Diocese of Chester says, "Lucy is an inspirational ideas person.  She understands schools, churches and family life and she will help us to think about how these can best work together and enable younger people to encounter Christ.  There will be space at the conference for people to do just that.  It's a privilege that Lucy will be speaking to us -  her knowledge and energy will be a great benefit to us all."

The conference is open to anyone interested in developing and growing the faith of children and young people. Bishop Sam will also be speaking at the conference, sharing his own experience and the diocesan perspective on including and valuing children, and young people in schools, churches and households in every aspect of church life. There will also be time for networking with others, to share and discuss ideas.

Whether you're a vicar, youth, children’s worker; governor, teacher, parent, or carer, if you are interested in supporting children and young people then this conference is for you.
