Foxhill hosted a celebration event to mark its 50th anniversary on the 19 and 21 July.
South Korean students, visiting at the time, entertained on Friday evening with dance and on Sunday afternoon Bishop Peter led and celebrated a service of Holy Communion, also to mark the 50-year anniversary.
People who have been closely involved in the ministry at Foxhill were invited to attend.
Jonathon Green, Director of Foxhill, delivered a sermon in which he gave thanks to all those who had ministered there.
He said: “Today we are gathering to mark and give thanks to God for the past 50 years, for the generous gift from Dr. and Mrs. Pilkington, the vision of Bishop Ellison, and to Bishop Peter continuing the vision of the past years; to all those who have faithfully ministered here over the years; for those who have renewed their faith here or found a new direction in their journey - it is amazing to hear the stories of guests who have visited Foxhill over the years and had a clear call to a new vocation.”
Foxhill is the house of prayer, study and mission for the Diocese of Chester is based just outside Frodsham. It hosts retreats, training days, and workshops and is used by churches, clergy and lay people from right across the diocese.
