St Chad’s CE Primary School in Winsford is one of our first schools in the Diocese to roll out the Flourish Project with a service held in school on the 17th October.
Flourish is an innovative pilot project from the Church of England taking place in 42 primary and secondary schools, and colleges across the country. The projects are a collaboration between children, school and local church who are seeking to develop new, intergenerational worshipping communities that meet in schools. We have four schools taking part in the pilot over the next 2 years in Chester Diocese.
The service at St Chad’s Primary welcomed 97 children and adults, including some ex-pupils. There were lots of dads which was great to see and a number of families. The young leaders wrote the service, set it all up and baked brownies for refreshments.
Headteacher, Catherine Speed said "We were delighted to see the service so well attended. Our young leaders had fantastic ideas for Flourish and it was a joy to see them leading worship."
