An 'open house' coffee and cake drop-in at Church House organised by Archdeacon Jane Proudfoot was an opportunity to meet with a team from Christian Aid led by Revd John Plant, British Church Relations Lead.
Jane said, "The work of Christian Aid is close to my heart and it also happens to be a charity founded and supported by the Church of England."
In this interview with Revd John Plant, he explained to Archdeacon Jane that; "The work we do is only possible through the amazing support that comes from local parishes", adding that "The Churches in the Chester Diocese are really key to that."
The lunchtime event on Monday 21 October raised over £165 and was attended by clergy from across the Diocese and volunteer Christian Aid fundraisers.
"We have had wonderful feedback from visitors, saying how much they enjoyed coming to Church House and how the atmosphere was inclusive and fun. The Christian Aid team found it really helpful to understand how we can work better together. I'd love to make this an annual event and look forward to welcoming more visitors to Church House to look around and meet the team."
