We welcome Ali Rice to the team at Church House where she will be working 2 days a week supporting schools and those working alongside them in their collective worship and Christian distinctiveness development work.
Ali has a background in primary education and was a headteacher in Wigan before taking a few years out to enjoy her son’s early years. Most recently she has been working as a consultant in Liverpool Diocese supporting Church schools to develop their understanding of spiritual flourishing. She is a keen advocate of ‘Prayer Spaces in Schools’ and volunteers for the organisation as a networker and member of the national team.
Ali says, "I am hugely passionate about Church school education and the powerful transformation churches and Church schools working together can bring to their communities. I am delighted to be working as part of The Diocese of Chester Education Team and I am very much looking forward to collaborating with all those involved in this vital work of supporting Church schools to flourish."
Deputy Director of Education, Sue Noakes says, "We are delighted to welcome Ali to our team of DBE officers and she is already very much a part of our DBE family. As a team we support our 114 church schools in the development of their distinctive Christian character and Ali’s experience and knowledge will bring a great strength to this. Having led training in Spiritual development for both Liverpool and Chester and with her knowledge as a SIAMS inspector, her appointment means that the already great support given to our schools will be further strengthened. We are excited for the new ideas that Ali will bring and feel blessed that God has called her to join us."
