Lambeth Conference welcomes bishops from around the world

The three bishops of the Diocese of Chester will join with their peers from across the Anglican Communion this summer for the Lambeth Conference 2022.

Convened by the Archbishop of Canterbury the Lambeth Conference is a gathering of bishops from across the Anglican Communion for prayer and reflection, fellowship, and dialogue on church and world affairs.

With the theme of God’s Church for God’s World - walking, listening and witnessing together, the conference will explore what it means for the Anglican Communion to be responsive to the needs of a 21st Century world.

Over six hundred bishops and their spouses will travel to the conference, including those from our link dioceses in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Melanesia. Together the bishops will represent dioceses and Christian communities from around 165 countries of the Anglican Communion - one of the largest Christian communities in the world.

Christians across the world are encouraged to pray for the Conference. A short prayer guide has been created for churches and communities that would like to pray for the conference and all those attending. You can download it here

Bishop Mark and Bishop Julie are on Twitter and are likely to share comments during the Lambeth Conference, and updates and statements from the Lambeth Conference will be communicated via the Lambeth Conference Twitter feed and website.
