Worship Advisory Group

The Diocesan Worship Advisory Group is a worship and liturgical resource for the Diocese of Chester. The group seeks to be aware of the wide range of Anglican liturgical practice, is able to reflect theologically on worship within a changing cultural and mission context and does so in fellowship and prayer.

The group meets four times a year to reflect on worship, to plan and deliver training sessions and contribute to the worshiping life of the Diocese. The group support the work of the Diocesan Worship Advisor and provide a network of practitioners to follow and engage with other liturgical and worship networks and groups.

The group is made up of members whose experience and interests encompass the rich variety of worship in the Church of England. Current members of the group include:


Julian Heaton Revd Julian Heaton (chair)
Vicar of St Anne's Sale. Previously he has been involved in inter-diocesan worship education activity and has a diverse experience in the richness and breadth of the Church of England's traditions. 
Alec Brown Revd Alec Brown
Vicar of Great Budworth and has been a member of the Diocesan Liturgical Group since the mid nineties. He has a special interest in worship in rural churches and the countryside (especially the agricultural festivals, major and minor) and the Book of Common Prayer.
Alison Harris Revd Alison Harris
Vicar of Witton (Northwhich). She was previously Adviser for Ministry among Children in the Diocese and has a particular interest in worship for all ages. She has organised ‘godly play’ training days.
Clair Jaquiss Revd Clair Jaquiss
Works in the BBC's Religion and Ethics Department as a radio producer.  Clair produces and occasionally presents Radio 4's Daily Service, Choral Evensong and Sunday Worship along with many other worship and music programmes.  She is Assistant Priest in Hale Barns working in the parish one day a week and on Sunday's when not on the road broadcasting.
