Welcome to the Mission team. Our pages will provide you with recent updates, resources and event information to support you in your ministry and mission.

The MissionTeam – what do we do?

(i) Take forward the spiritual and numerical growth of the Church of England.

(ii) Re-shape or reimagine the Church's ministry for the century coming, so as to make sure that there is a growing and sustainable Christian witness in every local community;

(iii) Focus our resources where there is both greatest need and greatest opportunity.

SignpostThese three priorities have been discerned by the House of Bishop’s for Church of England the coming five years. These are essential challenges not only for bishops but for every parish and deanery.
The core task of the PDT is encapsulated in these priorities. Our concern is with the health of the church today (its worship, welcome and giving etc) and the evolving shape of the church so that together we can meet the challenges of mission and ministry in coming decades.

The Queens 90th Birthday

The country and Commonwealth are celebrating the Queen’s 90th birthday. From her actual birthday on 21 April through to the official birthday celebrations from 10-12 June 2016, people will be participating in a wide range of events and Patron’s Lunches. It is an amazing opportunity for churches to bring communities together to say thank you: thank you to God for a faithful life well lived, and thank you to the Queen for her unstinting service.

"Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved."

Acts 2:43-47 (NIV)
