The resource library at Church House includes a wide range of publications and other items available for loan to people in Chester Diocese involved in ministry with children.

You can borrow samples of group programme resources from a wide range of publishers and books of ideas on prayer, holiday clubs, games and drama, art and craft, seasonal material and much more. Or try some background reading to help you develop how you include, nurture and reach out with children. Main resources catalogue

Other resources available to borrow include:

  • Praise and Play packs for parent and toddler groups and services. Each pack includes a story book and a simple craft activity. Download a list of packs available.

  • Godly Play resources (mostly based at the cathedral and in Macclesfield). Click here for a list.

How to borrow The resource library is available during office hours, Monday to Friday. Loans are free of charge and we can also post items out to you. However, you will need to either post or bring them back within about four weeks (longer by special arrangement). Sometimes we can arrange alternative drop-off points for returning heavier items. If you want to get advice on resources, please arrange a time to visit with David Bell. Relevant resources are also available to borrow from many training sessions.

A pracical course for preparing children to receive Holy Communion

Aimed pimaily a clergy, children's workers, parents and teachers who want to enable children aged 7 - 9 to participate fully in Eucharistic worship.

The course itself comprises ten flexible teaching units plus four punctuation points to mark the journey.
