Bishop Robert - talked about 'the quest for inner coherence' in life as we get older Exploring the challenges of living longer
A series of talks on the subject of growing older have been given at St Michael's and All Angels Church in Macclesfield town centre. Among the speakers was the Bishop of Stockport (pictured). The latest of the talks will take place on Wednesday 10 October, starting at 2.30pm. The speaker will be Peter Dunlop, who will talk about what it is like to have Alzheimer's.
Chester priest Ralph Kemp among the Congo Christians Chester priest 'humbled' by African visit
A priest from Christ Church in Chester recently returned from a trip with fellow Church of England people to the Democratic Republic of Congo. The Revd Ralph Kemp (pictured on the visit) is Associate Vicar at the Newtown parish in Chester, which is part of the Diocese of Chester's Congo Link - an organisation which co-operates with and helps Christians in the African country.
A Christmas spectacle in Stockport Christmas Tree Festival in Stockport
St George's Church on the A6 in Stockport is getting ready to host its sixth tree festival from Wednesday 28 November to Sunday 2 December. Each year this big landmark church features more than 70 trees, decorated and illuminated according to various themes.
Pulpit couple celebrate 50 years
The Revd Rob Watts and his wife Marian (pictured) recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with members of the congregation at St Luke's, Huntington, Chester. Having married in Leeds in 1962, Rob was ordained in the late-1980s, before serving God at Partington, and later, Tintwistle.

A service of reflection for the local community was held on Sunday (23 September) at St Michael and All Angels Church (pictured), Mottram. The church is near to where policewomen Nicola Hughes, 23, and Fiona Bone, 32, were killed in a gun and grenade attack. Vicar the Revd James Halstead said a short homily, and six red candles were lit by representatives from the police, by Jonathan Reynolds MP, and by members of Mottram and Hattersley churches.

This was held on Wednesday 19 September at St Barnabas' Church in Hattersley to give local people a chance to gather and remember the two policewomen killed nearby in a gun and grenade attack. The deaths of Nicola Hughes, 23, and Fiona Bone, 32, have horrified the whole country.

Bishop of Birkenhead Keith Sinclair and his family have been visiting the Democratic Republic of Congo with a team of 14 people from the Diocese of Chester. The visit was part of the process of building a link between the church in Cheshire and fellow Anglicans in the central African country.

The Christian Resources Exhibition (CRE) will be held at south Manchester's Event City for the first time this autumn. It offers a whole range of resources and equipment for church communities, including a catwalk show of clerical robes at which the Revd Taffy Davies, Vicar of Sutton St James, will be one of the models.
Elisabeth Forster Talk on Christian art
Elisabeth Forster (pictured) will give a talk entitled 'Looking at the Story of Christian Art' at The Wesley church centre, St John Street, Chester CH1 1DA, on Wednesday 17 October, starting at 2pm. The talk has been organised as part of the Wesley's exhibition of modern Christian art to be held from 22 September to 27 October, Monday to Saturday.
Lammas loaves at the service Celebrating Lammastide in modern era
Haslington parish has reconnected with Lammastide - the traditional celebration of the first fruits of the harvest. When the Revd Anne Lawson became Vicar of Haslington and Crewe Green in May 2005 she had a vision to reconnect the church with the farming community, which had been going through tough times (and still is).
