St Mary’s church in Upton, Wirral, is reaching the end of the first phase of a major church building redevelopment – which will see the reopening of the church. The most visible change will be the flexible seating, designed to accommodate different styles of worship and activities.

Christian writer and broadcaster Adrian Plass and his wife Bridget (PICTURED) will spend an evening at St Mary’s church, Weaverham, on Saturday 12 September. Starting 7.30pm, they'll bring the joys and frustrations of the Christian faith to their audience with humour, sketches, poems and stories from their own perspective.

On a glorious April day the Ven Ian Bishop hosted a lunch for 42 retired clergy, and their spouses, at his home in Congleton. Lunch was cooked by Ian himself – and no-one complained!

A long-standing member of St Margaret's Church, Wrenbury, celebrated her 100th birthday over the Easter weekend. Mrs Jessie King (pictured) attended Wrenbury school as a child and married in Wrenbury church.
undefined Arts and crafts in Wallasey
Saint Thomas church in Liscard, Wallasey, Wirral, will hold its third annual arts and crafts exhibition from Friday 19 to Monday 22 June. Among displays at the church will be pottery, embroidery, paintings and modern art.

An inter-church social group launched 18 months ago for Christians in Wirral and surrounding areas is now thriving. The group - called ‘Eat, Pray, Live’ - was founded by Julie Dunlop of St Mary’s church in Upton, Wirral.
undefined Tree of Life art at Hale Barns
All Saints church in Hale Barns recently welcomed an art installation created by children in year 5 at the local Elmridge primary school – with the assistance of their artist-in-residence, Dee Dewar. ‘The Tree of Life’ glass in the church windows was the inspiration for the students, who made a number of panels to be hung alongside the widows.

St Mark’s church in Dunham Massey has organised a Village Garden Ramble and Scarecrows Display for Sunday 21 June, from 1pm to 5pm. Admission is £5 for admission to 12 gardens, including that of Bishop Libby.

The ‘Knit & Natter’ group at St Cross in Knutsford kept busy during Lent again this year – producing this Easter garden scene of the open tomb and the witnessing of the risen Christ.
undefined Fundraising service for Buxton Mountain Rescue
St Stephen’s church (the ‘Forest Chapel’) will host this event on Sunday 7 June, starting at 3pm. The hour-long service will be dedicated to cyclists and walkers, who can sometimes find themselves in trouble in the Peak District and surrounding border areas.
undefined Chester Cathedral ‘s educative Lego adventure
Later this month visitors to Chester Cathedral will be invited to explore the prospect of an extraordinary miniature model of the ancient building. A scale model of the city landmark is to be made entirely from Lego bricks.
