A new book which explores ways to make the lives of Christians less prone to discomfort and distress has been written by a member of our diocesan Mental Health Forum former and a former Vice Dean of Chester Cathedral. The authors say the book communicates this healing truth … that encountering the love of God frees us to love our neighbours AND ourselves, as we could. The book is full of engaging stories.

The Revd Lameck Mutete and Churchwarden Georgina Blackhurst went to Bangor in Wales and rode what's claimed to be the fastest zip wire in the world recently. St Mary’s church, Upton, Wirral, was invited back to their local supermarkets again during the pre-Christmas build up to surprise shoppers with its flashmob choir. After finding out that 2.5 billion people don’t have somewhere safe, clean and hygienic to go to the loo (that’s more than a third of the people on the planet) members of St Matthew's church, Edgeley, Stockport, decided to help. They did so by ‘twinning’ the toilet at their church with one in Liberia, Africa, and they have a certificate (PICTURED) to prove it.
