Bi-centenary celebration of St Peter's Church

A special service was held recently to celebrate the bi-centenary of the consecration of St Peter’s in Delamere. The service was conducted by the Rector Revd Elaine Ollman and Bishop Peter preached the sermon and led the congregation in an act of re-dedication.

Delamere is a Crown Benefice and the Lord Lieutenant of Cheshire David Briggs MBE, KStJ attended the service on behalf of the Crown.  Former clergy, representatives from local churches, the Deanery, county and local councillors, staff and pupils from Delamere Church of England Primary Academy, together with long-standing friends of the church and community were also present to share the celebration with the church family.

At the conclusion of the service celebratory soft drinks were served and a large cake was cut and distributed.

A Time Capsule assembled by the congregation and the school to be opened in December 2067 was dedicated and after the service was placed inside the altar.
