Half-day training on the HLF GPOW grants scheme for urgent structural repairs

This half-day training event is designed for churches considering applying to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) for ‘Grants for Places of Worship’ (GPOW). The GPOW scheme is for urgent structural repairs to listed places of worship, with associated heritage engagement activity; grants range from £10,000-£250,000. More information can be found on the HLF website

NB: if your PCC has decided not to apply for lottery funding for moral reasons, there may be funding available from Historic England- contact Emily Allen for more information.

Workshop Aims

  • Are you eligible and ready to apply? An introduction to the criteria, how the scheme works, what evidence you need to submit and how to deliver the HLF outcomes
  • How to complete the application form. Top tips and an explanation of the main questions
  • What’s it really like applying for and managing a HLF GPOW grant? A case study presentation from the Diocese of Chester
  • Your questions and concerns. Time will be made available for questions during the session. Emily Allen will also be available afterwards for specific 1:1 questions.
