Event - Preaching with Paul

Location: Daresbury
Date: 18/05/2017

led by Revd Dr Robert Evans

Paul has been immensely influential in the formation of the Church’s theology, but is a contentious figure even among Christian readers of the New Testament. What are the problems? Paul directly addresses his readers: when do we see ourselves as direct recipients of his exhortations, and when are there things we need to know about the readers to whom they were first written?

Revd Dr Robert Evans teaches New Testament theology at the University of Chester, and is author of two books on Paul and Pauline texts: Judge for Yourselves: reading 1 Corinthians (2003) and Reception history, tradition and biblical interpretation (2013).
