Residentials

Residentials offer an exciting opportunity for children, young people and their leaders to grow their faith, deepen their relationships and take part in new experiences. This page tells you about the annual Diocese residential, as well as some other Residential opportunities you might like. There are lots around so it is worth finding one which suits you and your group.

Thy Kingdom Come: The Journey

The Diocese of Chester is pleased to announce: ‘The Journey’, our new Weekend Youth Residential.

Friday 18th May 2018 - Sunday 20th May 2018

What is The Journey?

A weekend residential, specifically designed for young people in school years 7-11, organised and delivered by a dedicated team of experienced DBS checked youth leaders from across the Diocese of Chester. It’s a time for young people to gather with others who share similar beliefs and outlook on life, and to engage with Christianity in a way which may be new to them. It’s the perfect place for young people and youth leaders to build stronger relationships and spend time with their youth groups, without the hassle for the leader of organising a residential.

Our programme is part of ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ and includes; workshops (art, video, dance, drama, song writing, and hard questions), wide games, Bible teaching, prayer, contemporary worship, discussions and the opportunity to make new friends, all in a safe space to build relationship and discipleship with God.

We know that youth leaders work tirelessly for their young people. We want to encourage and support them in their ministry by offering them and other youth leaders space to connect, share stories and collaborate. To make The Journey as little work for youth leaders as possible, we have created a pack with all youth leaders need including: flyer, letter to parents, consent and booking forms.

Soul Survivor (11+)

Every summer thousands of young people gather together across four events in Scotland, Stafford and Peterborough to worship God, learn what it means to live for Jesus in every area of their lives, to pray for one another, and to have loads of fun!

Each event lasts for five days and has two main meetings a day, plus seminars and lots of great venues so young people can hang out with their mates over a hot chocolate mountain, work up a sweat in the sports venue, watch a movie, or enjoy some live music. Soul Survivor also have some brilliant pop-up community events so don’t miss out on all the fun – go and join in!
