Write the Bible: Scripture as Poetry

Date: 17th June 2017

Time: 13:00 - 15:00

Location: Stockport

You are invited to a fun, informal workshop to learn how to turn your favourite Bible verses into simple poems.
The workshop will be held at St Matthew's Church, Grenville Street, Edgeley, Stockport, SK3 9EE on Saturday 17 June, 1 - 3pm. It's completely free and no experience is necessary.

The workshop will be led by poet Linda Cosgriff, who will guide you through the simple steps to create your own poems. You will be amazed at how fast you will pick up the techniques! And don't worry, you don't have to share any of your work if you don't want to.

This event is being offered as part of the Diocese of Chester's Y Bible initiative, encouraging us all to read our Bibles more often. It is open to any church in the area, regardless of denomination. Do feel free to bring a friend who may not be a church member - all we ask is that they have an interest in reading the Bible.

On the day, it would be helpful to have your own Bible handy, although we do have plenty for your use. Paper and pens will be provided but do feel free to bring your own journal if you want. Tea and coffee, biscuits and cake will be provided.

Places are free.
